hi again - i'm running the project64 emulator on my vista laptop (pentium dual core, T2130 @ 1.86GHhz, 2 gigs of DDR2 ram, intel mobile GMA 945)

anyway, after playing early on with the jabo direct3d plugins i realised i couldn't see holes in the ground, or paths or tracks or soft soil patches to plant my beans in. i didn't have this issue on my desktop, probably because it had a dedicated graphics card (geforce 6600), so i switched plugins. after mostly trial and error i settled on mudlords rice video plugin, it had the least graphics issues on my laptop (just the odd incorrect alpha blending, such as see through boulders where you can see the secret hole beneath it.

anyway, i was happy with the plugin, until i got the lens of truth from down the well. in that level, secret holes appeared merely as lighter shaded patches of whatever was hidden, and most of the time it didn't work. so i switched plugins again. i then settled on the gln64 plugin, which made the lens of truth work, but gave lots of random triangles and shapes appearing down in dungeon levels. also, it tended to crash a lot and close down project64 with a fatal exception, and save states refused to work (the screen would freeze at the last frame shown, although i could hear stuff).

the problem is, i could use jabo's plugin again, but there are so many texturing problems plus slightly juddering frame rates. mudlords is the most stable, but the lens of truth not working is a deal breaker, and gln64 is far too unstable. i've also tried direct64 and dadalaus, but i can't see insects with that plugin.

does anybody else use project64 with a similar laptop configuration? if so, what plugin or settings do you use to get the best results?

ps: opengl modes just appear with a black screen.
