http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/6133/zp71.png Everytime that I load up a game, VBA turns my blue bars into gray. I am running win7 and the color of the bars reminds me of win2000. Is there anyway to fix this? I have a 64bit os.
Which version are you running? If it's that God damn archaic version 1.7.2 or version 1.8 Beta 3 then you should delete those old pieces of crap and get VBA-M Now~! http://vba-m.com/forum/Thread-visualboyadvance-m-svn-1097-mfc-info-and-download You need to register a free account on there and if the emulator fails to run the first time you "run" it and tells you it needs some sort of .dll file then you'll need to update your directx installation by downloading and installing this download: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 "But I have Directx 11 and this file is for Directx 9... blah~! blah~! blah~! Whine~!". Yes it is for Directx 9 but you'll still need to use it to update Directx 11... otherwise the emulator wouldn't ask for certain .dll files that it needs now won't it?
It is 1.8.0.603. I haven't been keeping up to date on new emulators, lol. Will it help solve my problem, though? that is what I want. What's ini?
Could do, never known the older versions of VBA to revert your theme from aero though. Might be something up with your GPU/drivers as well. Are you able to upload a snapshot of your dxdiag or give a basic rundown of your computer? Note the icon, you can open it automatically with notepad, just copy the whole thing, go to pastebin.com and post the paste link back here.
I thought so AFAIK, that build was built on the 32bit OS System at the time (Windows XP) so it is safe to assume that your OS is "trying to run" the emulator on XP Compatibility by disabling Aero when you run that piece of crapware. Not sure though, but as far as GameBoy, GBC & GBA ROM compatibility is concerned, the current build of VBA-M whose link I gave you is far superior than VBA 1.8 Beta 3 And it "runs" games much faster too.
That's interesting, I wasn't aware older versions of the "crapware" VBA "ran" any "slower" than it does "now".
Try running these titles on VBA 1.8 Beta 3 and compare the results with VBA-M: https://www.romulation.org/roms/Game_Boy_Color/Hamtaro-Ham-Hams-Unite!-U.zip/ https://www.romulation.org/roms/Game_Boy_Color/Batman-The-Animated-Series-U.zip/ https://www.romulation.org/roms/Game_Boy_Color/Simpsons,-The-Night-of-the-Living-Treehouse-of-Horror-U.zip/ And one of these two doesn't even load up on VBA 1.8 Beta 3 https://www.romulation.org/roms/Game_Boy_Color/Addams-Family,-The-U.zip/ https://www.romulation.org/roms/Game_Boy_Color/New-Addams-Family-Series,-The-E-En,Fr,De,Es,It,Pt.zip/ Now for a GBA test, get a hold of this game: https://www.romulation.org/roms/GBA/0226-Super-Bust-A-Move-%28U%29-%28M3%29.rar/ Now beat one level and look at the "level score" screen on both emulators, plus notice which emulator runs this game a bit faster/smoother.
