My computer has been pretty slow and for some reason had problem starting up. Because of that I restarted my computer( Windows 7) so all my files had been deleted (I don't really care for those files anyway).I restarted my computer making it "new" and I'm wondering. Why does my computer FREEZE in an hour or so. By FREEZE I mean that everything freezes. My mouse won't move and if I plug the mouse back in, the light under the mouse wouldn't even show. Not even the alt-tab-del button works. Everytime that happens, I have to hold my power button off and it has to do the Startup repair when it loads. How do I fix this freeze problem so that I don't have to deal with it?
there could be a lot of causes including a faulty cpu. You can start off by giving us your specs (CPU, ram, hard disk, graphics card, any other cards), your power supply ratings (you'll need to remove the side panel of the computer and read it off of the sticker on the side of the power supply) and screenshots of the temperatures and voltages from speedfan (free download)
ok, that helps a bit. I assume its not been changed since it was bought? (other than ram). can you download and install speedfan from here: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php (click the link that says speedfan 4.46, it isn't obvious) and post a screenshot of the 'readings' tab when it loads. Also look in system properties to find out the name of your processor and write it here (it's either an Athlon x2, Athlon 64 or sempron).
My processor is AMD Anthon(tm) 64 processor 3500+ 2.20GHz Uh, I dont really know how to post the picture on here so I should pm you that? You know what Loony? My computer seems to be fine at the moment, Thanks for helping me though. I think the problem was that I didn't update my driver or something.
you could PM it if you want. Drivers should not cause a complete freeze like you described, so I'd still be inclined to think there may be an underlying problem.
