I have just recently downloaded the premium down loader and i am a premium member, but every time i try to start the exe program it says it has stopped working i do not understand why i have tied re-downloading it but it says the same thing i am also running window vista. Any idea why?

no, it is a set of libraries used by programmers to make their lives easier (i.e instead of having to write code to do common tasks, they can just make a call to a library in the framework, where the code to do that task already exists).
Now the installer for the exe file on the link you sent me it says setup error and it does nothing any thoughts?

it would not let me download all them in order it said i had some files allready and it just is not working but IT happens lol thanks for your help though.
I have exactly the same problem as gohanssj2a99. The premium downloader just won't start. I tried all the steps as described above, but unfortunately I cannot get it to work. Could it be because I have Vista Home Premium SP1? Any help is much appreciated.
I have a new preminum account (1 hr) and have installed the downloader as administrator. Installed .net updates. Still the thing says bad name and or password. then said all downloads finished! No dice... they werent anywhere, I checked the defaults and my folder. What gives?
Need to go to settings, enter your username and password and tick romulation premium member box if you havent allready set them.
I did those... and checked all the instructions, all the forums and did all suggested before requesting help. Name and password for Romulation, server ticked...
Re: Premium downloader HELP!!! SOLVED!! I finally looked at the NDSDNR.settings file and saw that it had messed up my user name. On the settings page you cant see the first character, so I input it again... the settings file shows a double letter. Fixing it here and in the program did NOT work, so I dumped everything and downloaded the program again. This time I only input the correct user name and password (it doesn't show the first letter of the user name) but it WORKS! I still doesn't take the changes I made to where to put them, but I can live with that)
That's slightly weird, I haven't managed to reproduce that and my name even starts with an S as well. Try to delete the settings file and have it regenerated again, that might fix all the errors.
Erased it, then opened the app. had to input all again, still can't see the first letter of the user name, but it works as before. It downloads to the downloader folder - indicated that it has extracted it (but doesn't) says finished. But really this is better than the manual way I caught up while the downloader wasn't working at all. It took hours to catch up with the #'s
