I am looking for a few Wii games for the kids like spongebob and sonic. And this seems like the only site to have them that has a good reputation that I trust to download from. So initially I went to test the speed as a free member and it does download as stated on the site. I was getting between 240 to 270 kb's. But I stopped the download halfway though as the speeds dropped real low to under 70 kb's which the firefox download bar at the top estimated it to be a 4 day download. So I am gong to jump in as a premium user and see how the speeds are. I do have Time Warner and downloading through mega I get speeds capped at 1.9 mb's. So I think this is my providers cap. I wanted to ask beforehand what is the download speeds compared to Mega. I know that I won't expect speeds as fast as Mega but wondering if it would at least stay 1 mb?
too many variables to say for sure, but we've had people pulling 9MB/s upwards. So the capability to max out most lines is certainly there. Using a download manager with multiple threads (only premium users are allowed to use multiple threads) could speed things up if a single thread won't max out your line.
Thanks for the input. I have upgraded to the premium for a month. If the speeds are decent on my end I will be doing the 6 months at a time. Do you have any suggestion on download managers that can be used? The only download manager I used in the past was jdownloader but that was about a year or so ago. But I see that jdownloader is not supported here, correct?
jdownloader isn't a download manager, its a program for leeching links off of file hosting sites, and therefore can only be used on sites that it has a plugin for. commonly recommended download managers are flashget and internet download manager.
