If I get a 3DS, will the Ak2i I've been using all this time with my my DS lite be compatible or will I need to get something new entirely? Are there any precautions I should be aware about? Isn't there something like how the 3DS has some AP protection?

Make sure to wait/upgrade the Acekard2i first before accepting the 3DS's firmware upgrade. Just like DSi cases.
