I really wasn't quite sure what section to place this, because the problem could of occurred in the Flash Cart, or MicroSD Card, perhaps even both.

Just recently a problem occurred in either my Micro, or R4 ,(no duh: ;)) it started when i woke my DS up from sleep, it was already in the YSMenu, as i forgot to turn off at school, and when i tried opening a Rom, more specific Knights in Nightmare, but then a error message popped up saying:

    "Error opening NDS file"
(something in the lines of that)

So i thought OK, i rebooted my DS then the message popped up saying:

    "Couldn't find _system_.dat"
(something in the lines of that)

I started thinking O NO! So i plugged my MicroSD Card into the adapter, then into the computer, and now my computer doesn't even recognize my SD Card, only the adapter, i have tried rebooting the computer, blowing on the SD Card, Adapter, R4,Slot-1, even the area you insert the MicroSD Card Adapter, but of course no avail. :'(

Much to my surprise there were some files in my Adapter, which are:
    -TTMenu.sys
    -YSMenu.sys
(My memory is quite vague at the moment)

Now I'm not so sure what to do, and please i hope I'm able to recover the files on the SD Card, i haven't updated the back ups recently, and losing all those files on my SD Card would be heart breaking, all those save files, and the R4Ysauto took ages installing, i would have to replay several games i was half done. :(

    MODIFY:
Oh i forgot to mention that my SD Card is Kingston 2GB made in Japan, i have owned in for roughly around 2 years.

    Do you update your firmware?

Reinstal the firmware and try getting the latest cheat file from http://cheats.gbatemp.net/

I have already updated the YSMenu to the latest firmware a few fays ago, and i can't even access my MicroSD Card, when i plug in my SD Card into the adapter, the auto play doesn't even start up, it's only removable drive :)I) but i renamed my MicroSD Card to:

    "2GB MicroSD Card"

Try opening your SD card from My Computer.

Well that's the only way i am able to find out that it's the Removable Drive, (I:) not, "2GB MicroSD Card" it seems like my SD Card may of died, but why? it was working flawlessly before.

    microSD cards have limited lifespans.

It didn't detect the SD Card?
Then how many year is it life span?

its not measured by time, its measured by use, 10,000 read/write cycles is normal.

SD cards use NAND flash to store info, NAND flash is good because it can continue to work even if there are errors, the problem with NAND is that many of the errors are caused during manufacture. This is why people prefer to use SD cards made by either Sandisk or Kingston as they normally contain less errors than other cards, however a card made by either of these two companies may contain many errors and pass quality checks.

    What do you mean?

To a point. It does this by being larger than the stated capacity, with the hidden part 'spare'. When a bit wears out a bit from the spare area is used instead. Once all the spare area is gone, the card dies on the next bad bit.

Great? i guess all those files are gone, so there isn't anyway to recover the files from the SD Card?

When i plug my SD Card into the adapter, then into the computer, it doesn't come up with 2GB MicoSD Card, (as i renamed it) it comes with Removable Drive, (I:) so i assumed that was the adapter, not my SD Card, but before i plugged in my friends SD Card, and it was the same drive, so i thought that was quite odd, but i there's no space on the adapter correct? or did my MicroSD Card somehow formatted it self, or just died, i will try installing a firmware on the Removable Drive to check if it will work.

there's no memory in the adapter, no.

Then how is it possible that there are 2 files currently in there?

    And what is in it?

    It's
    YSMenu.SYS
    TTMenu.SYS
and a file with no characters.

It's quite strange, because i tried reinstalling the YSMenu, although before i did, i clicked on properties on the Removable Drive (I:) and more to my shock, there is only 8MB's left, and the capacity which is 1.87GB, so is that my SD Card? it says that there is that much memory being used, but I'm unable to see any files?

What is happening? i tried Error-Checking, but nothing happened ,should i try Defragmentation, I'm not sure what that does.

I will now attempt to create a Back Up, which is an option in "Tools" when i click on properties on the Removable Drive (I:)

    EDIT:
Back up was a complete waste of time, i should of known it meant the computer, now the file with no characters is unable to be deleted, now I'm really stumped, I'm about to install YSMenu to see if that helps, but if the Removable Drive (I:) is my SD Card, then why was it renamed to the default name, should i try formatting my SD Card, but if i do then i may lose all the vital files that may be in there, that i haven't backed up recently, why must this happen to me.

Well, why do you use YsMenu?I suggest you edit your own Cheat.dat with R4CCE.The R4 have limitation of using cheat. It must not more than 4 MB.The cheat file must not MORE than 4 MB.
