    Hi all, :)

I've been trying to forward a port to my NetGear DG834G router for several days now and I can't get it to work.
Before you ask, I have followed the tutorial on portforward.com but it still doesn't work!

    Can anyone help?

EDIT: I should add, it's uTorrent that I'm trying to get working and even though both my router and uTorrent support UPnP, they just don't seem to want to play nice.

make sure you turn off UPnP first, then following the tutorials on portfoward should get you there. Also make sure youve set up your static IP before fowarding the ports, you will need to include it IP that you wish to foward to in your fowarding setup. Is there any particular part that isnt working? and have you set up a port in utorrent and made sure that choose random port is deselected?

Just to clarify on Almo's post, it is your computer (the one running utorrent) that needs a static IP.

Thank you! I set up a static local IP address and it worked.

obviously not following the tutorial on portfoward as it states you need to make you ip static ;D
