Hi, I just picked up a pokewalker for 50 cents at a thrift store.Yes i am freaking.lol.Can it be used with the rom?Or do you need the real game?thanks.
Please use the search next time as there are like 20 topics about this little subject. : You can't use it with the rom. The game has a special infrared chip in it to connect with the Pokewalker. You will need the real game, yes.
If i had one in hands i'd try it, i've seen in multiple sites and forums people saying they got it working with the japanese rom, don't know if it is b s or if only the US pokewalker uses infrared.
Most likely BS. I don't see why they would change the entire inner workings of the game just for the US/EU market. =\
and if you wanna know why, theres an infrared in the pokemon cart that only the pokewalker can use. so it doesnt use the wireless function of the DS
