Pokemon SS patch problems

Okay, so I patched my Pokemon Soul Silver version with an English patch.

So everything is going good, Professor Oak shows up, all talking in English and I'm like, "awesome, looks like it's working."

Then BAM!, right after he's done and you shrink down the screen goes black. I can hear the town music and everything. But no graphics appear, and it just sits there.

I read in the comments for this game someone else was having this problem, but no one answered.

Anyone have any idea? I use the No$gba Nozoom thing. (just got it and this happened with my first game. xp )

I can't remember what the patch was...I got it from a youtube video. It worked fine on another emulator, but the emulator lagged so much it was unbarable so I switched to No$gba.

I'll check that one out and get back to ya.

Edit: No, sadly it does the same thing. I'm not sure what's wrong in all honesty. I've tried tweaking the settings no No$gba but so far that's done nothing. I'm really at a loss.

Edit...again: Okay, nevermind. It's working. I just..well..eheh. I didn't know how to use the cheats on the No$gba.
