Pokemon SoulSilver Problem (Please Lock)

Okay so I have been playing Pokemon SoulSilver for a while and I ran into a problem. In the Sprout Tower, the game keeps freezing when I get in a battle with one of the trainers. The game doesn't totally stop when I get in battle, the music is still playing and there is one animation that is still going, but I can't continue because it won't let me. When I downloaded the ROM I remember seeing a bunch of comments saying that it freezes in Sprout tower so I figured that a bunch of people had this problem and maybe someone knows how to fix it. I'm using DeSmuME 0.9.6 as an emulator. (I'm on a mac so that's pretty much the only emulator I can use...) Any help would be much appreciated.

I fixed this problem myself. I found out that it was loading the game through save states that caused the problem. I just saved the game, reset emulation and the battle worked fine. Could a mod please lock this now?

 

Well i believe you can skip the tower.
