Pokemon Soul SIlver save

I was curious about the Kanto region (how they changed the buildings, the music, what levels the wild pokemon were, etc...)and I still had to train to beat the E4, so I decided to use a finished save from another site. It was a .duc so I used that shuny converter. I've never used it before so I just chose "Action Replay Max DS (.duc / .dss)" and "NO$GBA . sav"

I started the game but the save didn't load so i just put my old save back into the battery folder. I started the game again but my old save wouldn't load either. The name of the save was the same rom too. Is there any way I can get my old save to work again or do I have to start over?

Also, what could I have caused this to happen? I put my old save into a different folder so nothing would happen to it, but it still got messed up.
