pokemon soul silver patch, please help

    hi all, i downloaded pokemon ss and hg, when i play my r4 a black screen comes up on the game. i need to patch it, but i dont know how. i tried patching it using the instructions. then the file was not allowed to operate. please could someone tell me where to find the patched rom or send it to me? :-\
