Pokemon RocketRed v03-1 (In Production)

Alright. To carry on this hack, this will unofficially be the thread for the continuation. This is definitely subject to change, so be aware of that.


Changes coming in the next version:
Some bug fixes
Viridian City complete/almost complete
Maybe New starters (But there will be new ones almost 99% sure in the near future)
You'll Learn the storyline that we haven't yet exactly planned!
Second Rival Battle!
You'll be able to get passed Viridian, and then the farthest you'll be able to go to is probably Pewter City.

Possible additions such as evolving a trade needed pokemon
Finished story city by city
Other inovations in FireRed hacking
New tiles for us to screw around with

Yes. This is what you all have been waiting for (Sort of). We are now allowing people to join. We are not exactly sure whether there's going to be sort of like a challenge you have to do before you join, or something else. Try NOT to post your application on this post, send a PM to someone on the hack team and they can see it. In the app, specify what you want to do whether it be sound, scripting, mapping, whatever, and also what experience you have with that job. Also it would be helpful if you include your work times and when you can be available during the week and whatever. Beta Testing is somewhat different. If you're interested, then you have to make sure that when we give you the ROM, you go through the new features, see if there's bugs, criticize us, and you cannot under any circumstances release this ROM or give out the link unless we give you permission. This is subject to change due to this being are first major recruition (Is that even a word?), so keep watching to see if we change it.

Im not sure but isn it impossible to have pokemon follow you on a gba rom?

 

On pokecommunity peoplebhave been making many advancements in ROM Hacking, and one of those advancements is to make a script that makes pokemon follow you even on FireRed.

Thanks for the support! One more thing to probably be added is also a Day and Night system.

 

And sorry for my constant nagging, but what about new starters? And btw that Snubbull you receive is really lame...can we make it something else, like a teddyursa? (Because Ursaring is awesome.)

 

The problem with the starters is that they should probably have atleast two evolutions.

Anyway, i'm back!
I'll have a look at fixing bugs now, primarily that one that crashes the game for standing in a certain spot, assuming it hasn't been fixed yet.

 

Yeah I've only done scripting and mapping right now.

UPDATE: Finished and inserted script for the Rocket that gives you the Snubbull. Other ideas for the pokemon are welcome as its not hard to change.

Why would you want Pokemon following you?
In the anime it isn't exactly common to have captured Pokemon permanently outside of their Pokeball, and certainly not with characters involved with Team Rocket (with Jessie and James being the exception - besides, Meowth was more a member of Team Rocket than a captured Pokemon).

 

Well it was a certainly liked feature in HG/SS, and they made a way to put that feature in FR, so I think it might be nice.

As I said in the first post, we aren't accepting anyone right now, but we will definitely in the future, and you'll probably be the first one for us to ask to join.

omg, it's the first time i seen a good hacked rom title
i made a half rom hack years ago, it was like different towns, you were able to catch all of the pokemons in the game, all mystery pokemon had an event somewhere, i made a few small dungeons bigger and cooler, i made vaporeon-jolteon-flareon starters and then i made new attacks for magicarp like bubble or water spit or something xD, than i made new attacks for the weak pokemons like ratata, caterpi and so on, and i deleted a lot of attack like leer and growl and made a few like laserbeam(with the attack grapics of leer)
than i made a place where you would able to catch pkmn who need a transfer to go to stage 3 ... becouse in this country you cant find people who has pkmn on ds or gba....
and i made a lot of pkmn be able to swim or cut, if they looked enough dtrong for it!!!
and i stopped before i was able to delete all of the cut-stonestreght things becouse those attack are lame and i hate to have HM attacks in my party ....
thats what i was able to do with no knowledge of hacking-programming

"Pumpkin City"?
I know there's better names for them.

Unofficial names for the cities. Right now we're just naming the cities after pies, but that might change later. I know it sounds stupid but its a start. Thanks for the ideas though!
