Hey. I recently downloaded both pokemon sapphire and ruby and cant seem to get either to work. I have tried unzipping them and the only thing i get is a white screen on visual boy advance 1.8.0. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I don't know but I too have experienced problems. I get an error message that says "Unsupported ROM Size"

elru what emulator are you using? it could be a corrupt rom, or just a problem with the emu

Two fixes I can think of

Download Pokemon Ruby(or Sapphire) Version 1.2 (E) and use VBA 1.7.1 or 1.7.2

Or apply the ips patch that should have come with the game when you downloaded it in the first place.

Pokemon emerald does that too. Is real time clock on? You have to stuff with the settings to make it work. The save type is one of them. I'll finish them later g2g now

    Here's my settings...

    -in emulator
    I've set directories
    Flash 128k save type
    Automatic Save type
    Synchronise
    Automatic IPS patching
    PNG Format
    Speed-percentage, transparent

in that case its a problem with the emulator, either the configuration or the actual emulator code

in no$ you have to go to emulator options and change the save type file to 512k or sumthing. Go here (its still romulation forums) https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php/topic,567.0.html THis guy will help you out. You'll be able to save then too.
