Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver Freezing on me

    I'm using an R4 firmware: V 1.54 on ds lite. when i enter a battle it freezes on the black screen after the poke-ball sign in the beginning. any suggestions?

    Try backing up all your files and reformat your MicroSD.

    after that try updating your R4 firmware to V1.18 if you have not done so..

    i backed it up and reformatted it, used the kernal Seph suggested, and cant kind V1.18
