Pokemon HeartGold freezes once I meet "Silver" = Tried it, still freezes!

I think his name is Red, the read haired guy that makes fun of you for getting into Pokemon. Right when I get to him, and we start getting into battle, it ALWAYS freezes. Is there a patch or something to fix this problem? I am like 40 mins into the game.

Are you talking about the bad guy at the beginning?

What flashcart/emulator are you using and what firmware are you using?

Yes.

I am using the Acekard 2i and I'm pretty sure the firmware is 1.6.

i don't mean to bump in, but his name is actually referred to Silver. there is already a trainer red at the top of mt.silver

You can name him whatever you want, but yes, "Red" is at the end which made this topic confusing in the beginning.

Just wait patiently until AKAIO 1.6RC3 within a few weeks.

 

I don't get it, if it doesn't happen to other people, why does it happen to me? Might it be the rom?

I actually don't play the rom.

I bought the game with the Pokewalker, so it never freezes for me.

I just never have heard of this bug.
I'll have to see when my brother finishes with it if it happens to his AK2i.

 

Are you sure you're running AKAIO 1.6RC2?
Everyone is running that and they've had no problems.

Try reformatting your MicroSD card.
Backup everything on your computer and format your card.

 

It may relate to the speed of the MicroSD card. I've heard using a slow one may have this kind of problem. Check the speed and try to use a fast card.

 

I've never had troubles with AKAIO.

My brothers use a class 2 and a regular MircoSD card (not SDHC).

 

Some but not all games depend on the speed. Yours is the lowest and that may be the reason. Try one with class 4 or above.
