    Ok. I select
    Documents-->Patch folder-->HGEF.patch
    and
    Documents-->no$gba-->4159 - Pokemon Heart Gold (J)(Xenophobia).nds

    I patch it and a file called "NO$GBA_patched.nds" appears in "Documents" I put it into the no$gba folder and play it, and change the settings the other thread says, and it still doesnt work.

    You need to install Microsoft's .NET Framework.

    Here is a post I did on a different topic earlier, it might help. The english patch DOES work for NO$GBA

    For anybody who wants a patch that translates menu, pokemon, and items to English, download it here!

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TNKUJZ28

    Follow the directions and it will patch over your previous game.

    If you are a NO$GBA user, to make your save file compatible with the newly patched game, you need to go to your Battery folder, find your save file, make a copy of it, and rename it as such:

    Original name: 4160 - Pokemon Soul Silver (J)(Xenophobia).SAV
    New name: 4160 - Pokemon Soul Silver (J)(Xenophobia)_patched.SAV

    It really is a pretty good preliminary translation.

    At first, why does everyone make a GUI with a Windows only language?
    It just isn't compatible here.
    And second, I don't need this patch, since this will spoil my Japanese training.

    The rom needs to be in the same folder as the program.

    I mean, they could make a Java, or at least a Python GUI, which is for every OS, and only one version is needed.

    It's a TRANSLATION patch, it does nothing to patch save issues you might have.

    Because not all patches are equal, some flash carts need one patch and another flash carts need another patch - and sometimes no patch is needed at all so patching will actually ruin shit.

    Maintaining many versions is a bitch, so providing the raw patch and a clean ROM is far easier.
