Pokemon Emerald Fog

I'm using no$nds to run pokemon sapphire and emerald (downloaded from this site, US version). Whenever I get to a place that has fog, like a cave or mountaintop, the fog overides the ground graphics. So all I can see is solid fog and my character. I was able to get through a few of the areas, but now I'm stuck. I'm open to using another emulator, if you know of one that will work. I already tried Visual Boy Advance, it doesn't work, it just gives white screen). Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

 

im getting the same problem with my vba before like about 6 months ago i used vba for ruby and sapphire and emerald and they all worked perfectly but now it just doesnt work anymore mayb its because i have a newer version

 

i have to same exact problem, i just googled the map to get where i needed to be.
