pokemon emerald events not activating?

I finally found a way to edit my save file and i made my pokemons hold two items, the aurora ticket and the old sea chart i removed them from my pokes and now are in my key item pocket, but the events dont seem to activate, any clues of why? i also hacked them so to speak via pokemon encyclopedia, works like pokesav

NVM now they are working

i actually was able to enable 3 of the events, i am going back to a previous save to buy all four items instead of dropping them on my bag, so that i can try to acess birth island

they seem to activate at random, will try to test on VBA later, if it works then i move my file back to my PSP
