Pokemon (Diamond/Platinum) problems

I have absolutely no idea what's up with it; the game itself works fine, the textures are slightly wonky but nothing really game breaking, it's just when I try to press start for the menu to come up so I can save the game, nothing happens.

I've tried to key bind the start to several different keys and none of them work.

Would anyone here be able to help? Thank you very much in advance.

 

Have you pushed the X button?

That always works for me.

 

Yeah, well, my X key is currently mapped to the DS's A button, and it works when I'm talking to someone/battle. Oh and forgot to mention, I'm using no$gba 2.6a

Try remapping the keys then.

 

I did. I remapped the Start key to the x button and it still won't work. *sighs*

 

You can do a save state no? :3

 

Eh, I thought I could, but I don't really find that option on my emulator? I mean, I'm rather bad at this so I might be overlooking it.

 

Right click on one of the screens and click on save state. Or an option similar to this.

And then to load a state, just right click on it and press load state.

 

Now I'm using the DeSmuME emulator and it does have the save state option. Hopefully it'll work with the saves too.

 

Perhaps it will.

 

Have you tried no$zoomer? I've had much better luck with that program. Also a little (very little) more user friendly.

I figured what the problem was... I wasn't pressing the X (ds button) I was pressing START (ds button) which was bound to x (my keyboard). *multiple headdesk*
