From what I've been reading today, nobody has actually started a translation project. People have discussed it, others are figuring out exactly what is located where, but nobody has gone about starting a project yet.

People have been making solid progress on figuring out what files are placed where though. Many would probably have an easy time doing the simple stuff, so we may see a move and menu translation before too terribly long.

I could imagine that happening within the week.
But not a fullgame translation. It took KazoWar up to the U release of Pokemon SoulSilver to completely translate the game.

I'm surprised the translation went that quickly. That must have required nearly all free time donated to the project to get done.

Exactly so.
I'm not sure how long Black/White is, but it will take a while to translate all of it.

If I'm not mistaken, HG/SS still weren't fully completed, they just sort of quit once the US version released since there was no longer a point in continuing.

Lol, KazoWAR didn't fully translate the game. He translated most of the menu and items and other basic stuff. He did the storyline up to Ecruteak, then he stopped.

The menus, items, moves, TMs, etc will be the first things to be translated. The storyline will be LAST.

DO NOT expect a full translation. That will be a waste of time trying to translate the entire game.

But, the AP is fixed. And for starters, the U rom of HG/SS had intense AP in it. It took a while to crack and some carts still can't run it if I remember correctly. If this were translated like HG/SS, it would help a lot of people out.

The AP took about four or five days to get fixed on the U version of HG/SS. I don't know if it was lack of interest, or actual tough AP, but the game never got an official patch. Rudolph's patch was updated to work with it, and firmware fixes ensued, but no true patch came out.

Starting a translation when some people can't even PLAY the game on their flashcarts?

ah LOL that thing. it doesn't work it only translates files like if the pokemon black or white file name is in japanese then it only translate the file name and not the actual in-game text. if babylon could do that, then why is the US release of pokemon black and white in 2011?
I don't understand why people even want to start an english project. the US release is going to be official so I don't know why people can't just wait.

well it's your choice. if you want to play the game with only some parts in japanese, get through 14 hours of the game and then go get the US version and spend another 14 hours going through it again knowing exactly what's going to happen and expect the unexpected making the game completely boring then go. I for one want to wait for the US release and play the game fully uninterupted by some kind of text mess or not understanding the story because it's in jap. jeez why can't you people just WAIT FOR THE DAMN US RELEASE.

I'm just swinging through the game and getting a feel for it. English is very unnecessary for a game such as this with the already available resources online.

It's a very well made game, and I'm really eager to play through it in English come March next year.

When a patch gets released, I will post it on here for download. If you are having issues with the patch, don't pm me, just post your issue here and I or someone will fix it.
