Well i figured it would have been put in to make up for the internet loading times being so varied that it could never be completely accurate to the second at all times. Good to know.
Like I said, it's a glitch that happens occasionally, just refresh the page and the time will be reset to the correct time.
Mine just did the same thing, starting at ~720 and going up, but since it's '-' it is still actually counting down. I refreshed once and it was back to normal.
