First of all, this system really sucks because even if you start a download, cancel it or get disconnected then the site will consider that you have already downloaded it completly. Yeah this is genious using that kind of system to prevent but it doesn't work like a charm. There are flaws. I've just registered an account and it dissapoint me to have the point system screw up what I want. + the speed system is really slow, I can get them via torrent or rapidshare to be honest. It's a shame. Make some correction on the point system. I will never pay for point that I'll loose like that.
LOL I've downloaded on the DS FFIV, and it was corrupt, so I'll loose some point again to try and get it without bad data.. that's great
We can't see if you've completed a download or not, that's a problem with the server software/HTTP protocol, there's simply no feasible way to monitor how much each user downloads without using way too many resources on it. If you cancel, pause or disconnect then you can easily resume if you have use a download manager - without loosing points too. If a file corrupts during download then that's really out of our hands too, I've downloaded tons of files from RomUlation and I've never once had a corrupt download where the file on the server wasn't corrupt already, so it really depends on the users connection. Should a user who have bought points get a corrupted download (and can send us a screenshot of the file checksum to confirm) then we will refund the lost points. But not if it's a user who's used the daily free 50 points. As for download speeds, again it depends on your location and connection to the server, I have gotten 1 MB/sec speeds before using a download manager and a dutch friend of mine got 3 MB/sec. So we ARE capable of fast speeds, but it depends on the user mostly.
"Some download managers such as FlashGet can take over the download BEFORE it's started by your browser, Personally I use FlashGet with the FlashGot Firefox extension, then I hold down ALT while clicking the download link. That will send the download to FlashGet instead and thus you will not be deducted points twice." Let me tell you something. I've done what your telling us, pression ALT before clicking. Sure it goes to FlashGet but I don't recall downloading a index.htm files. So I was like hmm okay I'll try it to see if it will start the files that I wanted. And you know what? About 30min stuck up like this. I was trying to download Brigandine for psx ( corrupted at 13.9 mo ) and FFIV for NDS ( corrupted at 9.64 mo ). If you want the screenshot and/or the files, I'll be glad to send them to you. I was told by some friends to come here because it was "great". I don't see it that way.
If you happen to be using a wireless connection, try using a wired one; data gets corrupted a lot more easily when it goes over a wireless connection.
LOL I see that one of the admin removed his message. Why should I use a wireless connection. I hate wireless, so well I'm using a RJ-45 via my rooter
I had no way of knowing that. Wireless is very popular because of its' convenience, so it was a perfectly valid question. The internet is an extremely complex network, and all kinds of things can cause data to get delayed or corrupted , so it is not possible to guarantee that data will arrive at it's destination 100% intact. The more data there is involved, and the faster it is sent (to an extent) the more chance there is of something going wrong.
LOL I was told to use a download manager.. did you read what I wrote? I'm always using FlashGet to download rs.com files so I won't make any exception but now I can see I won't be able to get the files I wanted.
you could be a bit more helpful with us... your seeming attitude towards Seph and Loony dont really set me in the mood to help you very much...you sound arrogant and winy . sorry if this is being harsh, just stop being so ... arrogant. For the Flashget thing, make sure youve gone onto the download page (clicked on download) and alt+click on the 'startnow' link , that shiould give you a .rar instead of a .htm
when was a download manager mentioned? if the connection drops halfway through the transfer, or a router between you and our server starts dropping packets, then it will be corrupt, and there's nothing anyone can do about it.
LOL I'm really talking to a wall eh? Sorry about that lad but I'll find a way to get it. BTW forget about getting any donation from me, I'm currently a power downloader and I dont like to get screwed up like this. It was a chance that I was able to test what you offer us before paying for it.
you're talking to a professional network engineer actually. Being rude is not a good way to make people want to help you.
It's not what I wanted to be rude, the only thing I want is the 2 games I tried to download. Then I told you that I wasnt using wireless connection. BTW I know how a network works. I'm also download a lot from DDL/RS.com/Torrent and I share a lot. My connection is up to 7Mbps. Nothing saturate my connection. On a site like Ubuntu I donwload the ISO at 1-2Mo/sec. etc. this is the first time I'm experimenting corrupted data like this. The only thing I want is to be able to get Brigandine for the psx and FFIV for NDS. I dont want anything else.
I've just downloaded the final fantasy game using firefox, and it opens fine so the file is intact on the server. Just about to try brigandine. Have you tried without a download manager? EDIT: Both games downloaded and opened fine, so something is happening during the download.
I've downloaded them via Firefox without download manager. I've tried some tiny download via Flashget and I got a result, for the first time, but when I tried to get Brigandine and FFIV there was no result. Using Firefox just completed the download but it wasn't really complete. First download I tried was FFIV, I started it normally and at 2 mo downloaded I decided to stop it (I lost 85 point) and try FlashGet with no result (I thought that I won't lose these point for no completion) then I restarted it with Firefox. FFIV stopped at 9.64 mo (I lost 85 point) after I tried Brigandine and it stopped at 13.9 mo (I lost 282 point for 13.9 mo)

nothing out of the ordinary there, I'll have to find out what the bandwidth utilisation of ntt.net is, but it doesn't look like the problem is there. Those response times suggest you should be getting a fairly good speed from our server.
