Check out Alienware hands down. Their PC's are wicked. Alienware is the gaming division of Dell. I have the Alienware M17x laptop, and it's by far the greatest I've ever used period. It uses the Intel i7 processor which is the highest grade processor available. It has 8GB of ram, which is bloody insane for a laptop.

it all really depends, like loony said, on your budget.

Honestly, I don't think you can but a machine that can play the latest games for $750
Best I can see is about $1000 for a "budget" i5 system

With that money you could easily play any new game that comes out. Also what you need to do is take equipment into account, eg. Keyboard and mouse. I personally reccommend the x7 oscar mouse for around 30$

May I ask what system you are referring to here.

AVOID alienware. They are seriously overpriced and have severe overheat issues.

It CAN be done for about $700, give me a few days to work out a spec (but you have to put the parts together yourself).

This guy makes a $500 gaming pc... he wrote article December 07, 2009 so its fairly recent and links all the parts he bought and if you click them takes you to newegg to purchase. :)

When its all said and done he has a 2.7ghz Triple Core Amd Athlon, 1GB Radeon Vid Card, 4gb DDR3 Ram, 320 GB hard drive, so it's pretty nice he also points out that its easily upgradeable for future too..

    hope that helps :)

no home builds are better as you can have exactly what you want for cheaper and most important i say with gaming rigs is air flow and fatty upgraded heat sinks.

Alienware are CRAP, as I have already said. They are massively overpriced and they overheat frequently.

    through lack of fatty heatsinks

not so much that, but fancy cases with poor airflow. Thermal performance should always be considered above looks.

the first thing i looked at was air flow when i bought my case and a fatty heat sink (i love fatty heat sinks, you may have guessed though)

I almost have the parts to run games like KOTOR and Neverwinter nights, and it should only cost around 250-300 USD.

I think you should be able to buy the parts for a very good machine with that budget.
