Hey guys. It's almost my Birthday and I want to get the Orange Box compilation.

    But I have some problems:

I have a gig or Ram but my Graphics card is and Nvidia 5200. Will i be able to play the games on their? I had a pirate version of Half Life 2 Episode one and that worked fine. But it was a Pirate so...

Also, I looked at the back cover of the game in the store and it said that you have to join on to Valve. Now here's my other problem:

I know what valve is. But the computer that has internet in my house is not the computer I'm going to play the games on. And my other PC that I will play the games on doesn't have internet and it will be really difficult to get it for that one.

So can any one tell me if my graphics card can, at all, play the games on the Orange box.

And what can i do to be able to play the games on my PC when I can't connect to the net.

    Help me guys!

first of all best to call it a back up not pirated its a bit safer to say.

you need to say what your processing power is but if you ran halflife 2 then you should not have many problems you'll just need to lower the res a bit.

the system requirements is for 1.7 CPU and a directx8 card so it should work for you best thing is to upgrade your graphics card as well. i'm guessing your card is agp as the 5200 is rather, old you can upgrade your card to something alot better for next to nothing, you'll be able to get a 6 or 7 series card for not much as there almost obsolete

I'm not sure about the AGP part but do you know if it will work on the 5200. Or can you give me a link to a good place to get a suitable card maybe.

By the way, my Processor is 2.8ghz.

Pirated/Backup it's all the same, no one here gives a shit. Also a pirate copy doesn't need less hardware. If you could run a pirate version then you can run the real version.

    Code:
if you played hl2 on your pc, then you shouldn't have problems with the other orange box games... but that doesn't mean you can't have them...

as to the valve problem, if you can, try to bring the gaming pc to the place where the internet-ing pc is, and link the net cable to the gaming pc... install the modem (if you need to) connect to the net and play...

your prosessor will run quite alot. before you buy a new card you need to know if its agp or pci-e but its so old i guess its agp and to find where to get cards just google for a computer shop that delivers to you country.

actually forget everything. while i was writing this i was doing some research for you to find out why you even need to go on the net.

the answer is you don't want the orange box.
been reading a few reviews, aparently you need to download some of the games it lists (portal) and toplay the box it downloads a peice of spywhere for market research (called steam). looks like a pile of poo.
you can get non steam cracks but if your cracking the game you might as well download a non steam pirate and save your self the money and stress. get a better gfx card for your birthday

What game would you reccomend apart from them then?

Oh, and also, Do you know where I could get the pirate then off the net?

PS: Is it gonna have to be with torrents? ???

yeah needs to be torrents. best bet is a site like btjunkie.org as it has high usage and comments so you can see what others have said about it. make sure its one that someone has said its non steam version or has the steam crack.

torrents are easy just download utorrent its the best it is its a fact don't use any others, only problem is you need to foward your ports but don't worrie thats easy to.
http://portforward.com/routers.htm this place will do a step by step guid for port fowarding on any router its all so easy when you know how.

I would suggest C&C any one. Most have pretty high rating. But I personally prefer tiberium wars. Then there's dungeon siege, or the all famous counter-strike. Good for playing every now and then. These game I reckon should be able to run on most PC.

tiberium wars won't run on his specs. it would need to be anything before generals but that might lag in height of war when skirmishing
