Please help i'm demented with my ds

I'm a new user to this and have extracted the nds files i need, all looks ok on the comp but when i put the card in the ds i'm getting a blank screen with only a red pic of a card that says menu in it??

 

that means your card is looking for the firmware

what flashcard are you using ?

 

its r4i-sdhc? i was a bit premature in posting this and have now downloaded a firmwear thing, do i just put this file straight onto the r4 card?

 

it will need to be unpacked using winrar to obtain the files, which all need to go on to your microSD card

k so now i've got a stage further than the angry looking lil red menu chip... stuck on the loading screen though, have i put the wrong firmwear on?

 

maybe, where did you get your firmware from? and did you put onto your microSD as it came? i mean you didn't put it all into 1 folder?

 

linfoxdomain.com, i saved it onto the card and then did the extraction to split it all out.

 

there are lots of different R4's, are you sure you got the correct firmware?

 

i'm just going by the tutorial advice and have downloaded the one based on the website quoted on the card.....other advise is trial and error of all the rest..... could be a long night

 

then go to the website it says on the card download the firmware and extract all the files to the root of your sd card

 

if you got it from the website quoted on the box the card arrived in, then it should work,

are you using a DS or DSi?

 

the ds, christmas present, along with the card and this web address....it's now new years day and i still cant get on the thing

 

it should still work for the ds dsi and the old ds what exactly do you do when you get the firmware

i'll try to help you get it up and running, it just sounds like you have the right firmware, but just put on your microSD card incorrectly

i may not be putting the downloaded files onto the correct part of the mini card, i'm just selecting the usb drive to save for the download, is this not saving it to the root?

 

you put the roms in a folder in your sd card then you put the kernel or firmware in the root of your sd card which is the spot where you just opened your sd card you dont keep any zipped or rar files
