Ok, i've got a TTDS card with a 2gb memory card in it. It used to work fine, but since acquiring newer games, it wont work at all.... I keep getting Error code 4, rom not loading please reset. Im a proper technophobe, i have not got a clue how to fix it, what to download or anything. If anyone can help me id be proper greatful!! Ive done the format fat 32 thing, but that hasnt made the games work. please please help me Lynne
Go here to update the TTDS that you have: http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=43121.0 Basically you need to replace the 3 .DAT files inside the TTMENU folder you see in your SD Card; 1. extinfo.dat 2. infolib.dat 3. savlib.dat Remember to always make backups of your SD Card content before formatting or when upgrading! If you still find problem, please address your issues in that link I gave or consult page 1 of that topic link.
Thank you, so do i delete those three files out and replace them with new ones? ive been so angry with it, i felt like throwing the whole thing at the wall! and giving up!
Yes, you just need to replace those 3 .DAT files. No need to replace the others. But again as I said, keep a backup copy before making such updating to be on the safe side. Each time a new update is shown on that topic page by iluvupaburgers, just replace those files mentioned. It usually should solve the issue you face unless mentioned otherwise in a separate topic page. You'll need to follow the updates from time to time to enjoy the latest games. Some rom do require patching before able to be use. So there will always be one or two rom that can't run properly even after the updated DAT files. If you encounter any issue, please write at that topic page so that you get proper assistance. But I hope you can solve it by doing just the above.

You're welcome. For your kids, its the same way you did for the TTDS. If their card already contain YSMENU/TTMENU, then simply replace those 3 .DATs. (no need to re-format the SD card) If theirs not yet have YSMENU/TTMENU, simply copy over the appropriate version as labelled in the package. (might need to re-format the SD card, remember to backup before starting, as you will need to re-insert those files back after formatting) And don't forget to read and follow the instructions and notes inside the package's READ ME.txt file that fit the description of your kid's cards. Notes: 1. Updates from RetroGameFan for this firmware is usually every 2 weeks. So keep an eye on that link from iluvupaburgers. 2. Latest games that are fixed are mentioned in the changelog 3. Only need to update the 3 .DATs that I've mentioned 4. Always make backup of your SD card before updating/upgrading/formatting 5. In some cases you might need to re-format before installing the YSMENU/TTMENU for the first time (not required when only updating the .DATs) 6. Some games still need patching for it to overwrite the anti-piracy feature. Please look up for separate topic on the relevant games, or look for a rom labelled as pre-patched for convenience
Ive managed to fix Katies Blue r4i card, However no matter what i do i cant do my sons R4 card, the files he has in there at the moment are: _system_ moonshl ds_menu.dat ds_moonshl.dat kernal version 1.18 it wont play the new games, it gives a blank screen or error 4. please can anyone help me again? lynne x
errcode=-4 is having they lastest infolib.dat/extinfo.dat replaced into the TTMenu folder, in order to fix the issue, that's if the game is added to them files If it is an R4 original like this one ? Can you please write down the words on the body of the R4 cartridge? Is it written as R4 Revolution DS (NDSL/NDS)? or does it have an additional writting on it such as "upgrade" or "SDHC" or "i" behind the R4? If there isn't any other writting on it then his cart is original. If so, then just opt to use WOOD R4 for R4 Original. Now add the _rpg folder and CK3's .NDS file and place it into the SD Card 5. Done (No need to add the .txt files into the SD Card) 6. Run the wood R4.nds from inside the console 7. Go to the START option you see on the bottom right of the touch screen; touch it 8. Go to the SETTINGS option and touch it 9. Use the arrow of the touch screen until you see FILE SYSTEM SETTINGS 10. Below it you should see SAVE EXTENSION; change it to .SAV 11. Press OK 2x and then Press YES; DONE 12. Time to play; each time your son should enter wood R4.NDS to play ** This is if his card is an R4 Original (can only run SD Card 1GB or 2GB) then use Wood R4 for R4 Original; If its an R4 SDHC (can run SD Card above 2GB) try Wood R4 for Acekard RPG. Same method but the download link for the Wood for Acekard RPG is in CK3's topic page I mentioned above. Like YSMENU, the update is usually 2x a month. Remember to do step no. 3 as this is important to avoid accidental replacing the R4's _ds_menu.dat with the Wood's that bear the same name. And at all times, remember to back up before starting. Note; 1. The YSMENU/TTMENU update I gave link to is the latest .DATs to date (as of Feb 6th) from Retrogamefan v.6.48 2. Thanks so much for your help! Have managed to do all three cards. My son has the original R4 card, the one in the picture above, i pu wood r4 on it and it works a treat he'sloving black ops which didnt work before! Katies is an R4i blue card, and shes now got ttds menu on hers aswel as r4 menu so it works for her aswel, and my ttds card i just put that new menu on it, it worked allday yesterday, now it has a white screen at the bottom. Im reformatting it and reinstalling the menus on to it again so hopefully that will work! I think in future the best thing to do is buy us all the same game cartridges and avoid the stress!! Done As for Wood R4, you must use the Acekard's themes : http://www.ndsthemes.com/themes/search/1/ak2/ak or http://www.acekard.com/skin.php Simply download the theme you want, Go to the _rpg folder and open the UI folder, place the skin folder in it.
