Sony's playstation Vita (pronounced as veeta), will cost $249 (€ 249) wifi only and $ 299 (€ 299) including wifi and 3g.
I missed the Sony press conference (damn you, responsibilities!) but if the PS Vita can play PS2 games, I'll definitely buy it. The 3G version isn't worth it if terribad AT&T is the carrier.
ATT have a major advantage over sprint and verizon: They use the same technology as the rest of the world. Sprint and verizon cellphones will not work outside of the US. ATT phones will work anywhere that has cellphone infrastructure.
Still not worth it for me. I can easily use my own wifi hotspot for $50 less. And there will be contracts and monthly fees for At&T's 3G service.
theres contracts and monthly fees on verizon and sprint as well. It's not something you can escape by switching provider
That's not what I'm saying at all. :/ 3G on a handheld gaming console is just not worth it to me, at all.
Just gonna say, the Vita is going to be able to play PSX EBOOTS downloaded from the PSN just like the PSP and PS3. That won't change. It would be nice to see the introduction of PS2 games, but that would be unlikely unless they did it on the PS3 first.
I'll repeat my opinion again about the Vita, same thing about the PSP too. The biggest issue I have with it is that it plays console games on a handheld. I don't want that. I want to play my console games on the console. And if I do have the option for it, I want to play those games on the console with the actual console controller (PSPGo had a cool feature but it's too bad it sucked). "Doesn't this go against why handheld gaming was made for initially?" Yes and no, while it was made to play games on the go, I don't think they were still made to emulate a console game experience. From the get go, Gameboy games were tight nit game experiences that were some how deep and easy to get into, cheaper than console gaming and short fun bursts of it's own experience. From the Gameboy and on the handheld gamine area held it's own and felt in someways better than it's console counterpart in my opinion but also stood out on it's own for everyone. Thank fucking god Peace Walker is coming to the PS3(and Xbox??). I couldn't stand playing it on the PSP even when it was as good as it was. That all being said, the Vita looks cool with it's PS3 connectivity. My biggest issue with it is how fucking ugly it's UI is and how awkward I imagine using the back touch screen.
i just downloaded the e3 coverage from PSN... it seems like Vita is download only like Go >.> anyway the game dont look very intresting other then LBP and that anime looking game.
PSP as a modern games console...? Why ever would anyone use the portable porn machine and emulation station for such a crazy purpose?
