To cut the long story short (especially since that forum thread seems complicated) you need:

    1) to have your Playstation modchipped (modchip overrides console copy protection and allows to play home-burned discs)
    2) image file of game (you can download games from this site of course)
    3) burn that image file to CD
    4) play! :)

In case you don't have modchip (hardware) installed in your Playstation you won't be able to play non original (burned) discs.

Over here where I live one can get it (they also install it for you) in shops where Playstations are sold. (at least my friends got it there)
You should try to check on the internet or your local advertisement papers and look for such shops/services in your area.

Since I don't own the Playstation (I use emulators) I never had to get modchip for myself.
Perhaps somebody on this forum can help more about that part?

You can always do the swap trick (you need a real game CD). Pretty much get a stick or something, put it into the little button so the disc keeps running after you flip open the top flap, then swap as necessary.

Hm I didn't know about that swap trick ;D

Personally I would still recommend modchip since in the end it's easier to use and nobody can accidentally damage the Playstation...

This is what I've found on the net about that swap trick:

Swap trick (no modchip needed) you only need any original ps1 disk and the disk you want to swap (for example burned one from this site)

    1. stick the button (see below)
    2. insert original CD
    3. turn on the console
    4. when CD slows down swap it with burnt copy
    5. when CD slows down switch with original
    6. when Playstation screen disappears quickly swap back burnt copy

    That's all!

Here is in red rectangle marked where is that "little button" thing:

    For more info just google:
    Code:
    psx swap trick
