Playstation 1 emulation

    i know its probly been said a million times, but i have downloaded so many emulators, so many bios, so many plugins, and still i cannot seem to make a ps1 emulator work. i have looked at help forums, youtube help videos, and everything i could find on it... i don't know what i'm doing wrong, it says that everything is testing fine, but when i try to play a rom the program fails.
