Okay so I bought myself an original copy of the sims 3 deluxe edition and you need the cd to play the games at all times, is there anyway I can play without the use of the cd because my cd drive is currently not working and I'm not planning on having it fixed any time soon. any help would be great. thanks
Shouldn't there be an option for that during installation; I mean an option to choose between "recommended installation which don't take up too much space however you still having to have the CD in the driver during playing after the main installation" and "full installation which uses a lot of disk space but no need to have the CD in the driver afterward". Cause I have an encylopedia which allow 2 of such choices where I can opt to install just the main program, but still have to run the CD each time I want to view the video provided in the disk, or dump everything into the harddisk which takes up a lot of space however I don't need to use the CD afterwards.
I don't remember being given that option and even if they did it's too late now since my cd drive doesnt work anymore.
Warez discussion alert! Anyhoo, why don't you just make an ISO image of the game disk then mount it onto a virtual optical drive app like daemon tools.

That usually doesn't work with discs, usually when i uh "get" PC games they will still need a crack even while mounting the disc. There no NO CD Cracks floating around, just grab one of those. You apparently have the actual CD so this is as legal as its going to come lol
This was the reason why I waved the "warez discussion alert" flag as one of the best routes you can do is to go hunt for a No CD Fixed launcher which absolutely falls under warez discussion. The only thing you need really is a working Product Serial Key & believe me that's easy to find, you don't even need any virus encrypted keygen for those. And yeah, there goes me following the Forum Rules by the book.

To be fair I never asked for a crack just an alternative. I went the "legal" way if you must and just downloaded Origin and re-downloaded my game using my serial number.
In my case, or rather in this country's case, I don't even need to get a No CD fixed game launcher for any PC Game as they come bundled with any PC Game optical disc you buy here on an aptly named "cracks" folder within the optical disc >.<
