    What emulator are you using?

What specifically happens when you click "New Game"?

I can't click new game, I can press start to skip the opening scenes, but I get stuck at that menu. None of the buttons do anything,

Get the 1.7 from http://www.emulator-zone.com/. Final Fantasy games have been known to not work great or at all on 1.6, they work better on 1.5.2, and then 1.7.

I got it but when i try to run it. It says
This application has failed to start because zlib1.dll was not found. Reinstalling this application may fix the problem.

You need the zlib1.dll dyanmic link lib file (obviously). Download it from the link below, and then put it in the same folder/directory as ePSXe 1.7.

    http://files.ngemu.com/psx/epsxe/download/zlib1.zip

Look on the ePSXe forum on ngemu forums (google), there'll be lots of topics about good plugins for 1.7. Choose Pete's mostly. They are the best. Or try the ePSXe plugin topic stickied in this board. I'm not sure if they would work for 1.7 though, I think they're outdated.

Use ePSXe 1.5.2 for squaresoft games.

Alright, got it running on v 1.5.2, thanks. :p
Its stuck at Barret saying "C'mon newcomer, follow me."
It worked the first time I ran it, I was able to start a new game by pressing circle at new game, now it won't let me continue or start a new game.
I have to try v 1.7.0, it has the same problem as v 1.6.0

Alright I downloaded pSX from emulator-zone and its working much better.

One more thing, how do I switch to disc two when it gets to that point?

What graphics plugins are you trying to work with in ePSXe?
I am running FFVII on 1.7.0 with no real issues.

    As far as changing discs:

In ePSXe you press ESC, and select File -> Change Disc -> ISO (or CDROM if you are using a CD)

I think you could also save it when it asks during the disc change screen and then load up Disc 2 and select the saved game at the end of Disc 1.

That second part sounds right and the game works on pSX, not ePSXe.
    So I wanna be sure.
