Also what is the program i need to make psx? eboots? i have read of POPSTATION and POPSLOADER, which is it?.

I have no idea how they've managed to sell pirated copies of UMD discs, but for all PSP games, they come in ISO formats that go on the memory stick. In other words, not on a UMD. And in other words, you do not need to buy pirated shit from other people.

EBOOTs are used for PSX images that have been converted using popstation (look up guides on how to convert PSX ISO images to EBOOT.BIN files) on a PC. There are a few programs. I don't know them offhand. There's also programs to modify the EBOOT to have a cover image, a background image, and you can animate the icon. My FF8 EBOOTs had a few seconds of the opening FMV with the battle between Squall and Seifer.

Popsloader is the plugin used on the PSP to run the EBOOTs.

Yeah i they guy told me finally today that the mini DVD's they sell have isos written on them (so all one needs to do is to transfer them to the stick, talking about those what is the bigger pro due stick avaible, since most psp games weigth around 1.xxGB's and my psp came with a 2 GB stick and about 3 games).

I found a guide on sneorama that has an app named popstation but all links are dead (if you have any could you pm them to me, please) that details on how to go about making eboots and i havent found any relaible sources since google shows me pages like uptodown, etc that i dont have much trust about them.

Also and to finish how do i use PSP cheats and PSX cheats ont he PSP? this is due that i have a smal intrest in accesing the debug rooms of the games, to see what was left in and out.

Yeah dude, that's total junk. I wouldn't buy anything from them because they're making nearly 1000% profit on those. Mini DVDs are like $1, and they're probably selling those things for at least 10x as much. Especially when you can download your own games for nothing, these shops are a joke and only exist to rip off the ignorant.

It's been years since I've dealt with PSP EBOOTs. I don't remember exactly how to use popstation or where to get it.

For PSP cheats, and PSX cheats, you'll need to use an updated version of cwcheat plugin for each version. If you don't know how to use plugins, look up a guide. Also, the RemoteJoyLite plugin is pretty badass too, since that allows you to output the PSP screen to your PC, and with a headphone-headphone wire (it's a headphone jack on both ends), you can output sound to your PC as well.

well i figured out how to use popstation on the run, it was easy since if ound a YT vid that showed what to do, i need to aks now, do i really will need to install every firmware shown here: http://freeplay.halfmoon.ws/fw/updates/ to run every game, since it seems quite a few ones i want to run need a specific firmware, for example i want to run this set of games (practically not a lot)

Alundra 1, alundra 2, FF I to IX, CT, CC, LOM, LOK 1 LOK:SR, Spyro 1 to 3 aaaaaaaand Castlevania Symphony of the nigth, along with xenogears ( i love RPG's) and maybe RE 1 to 3

Go to the PSX eboot section at pspiso.com, they've got every PSX eboot you can imagine there. There's no need to create your own eboot, unless you're looking to customize it of course.

true, but making my own ebbots it's faster it takes around 10 minutes for my to rip an CD image, then three to five minutes to make it eboots and arounds 5 more minutes to transfer it to the PSP, BTW do you have any idea how to use the plugin for cheats? garland of youtube posted some sweet codes for fun so i wanted to test them

To make your own PS1 eboots, I use PSX2PSP. Works a treat. There was a program called "poploader v3 setup for X00X" that automatically loads all the pops you need to play PS1 games into your PSP's memory stick.

For PSP games, just drop the ISO of the game into your ISO folder on your memory stick. You can also use CSO, which is a compressed ISO to make the files smaller. To make CSO's I use a program called "PSP ISO Compresser v1.4" as it will compress or decompress ISOs to your desire.

I wouldn't recommend using CSO as the primary usage for ISO playback. Some, if not most games suffer from the compression, and for games like GTA, the textures will not load on time, or will be glitchy. As for racing games, you'll most likely fall through the ground since the data hasn't been loaded when you get there.

Only use CSO if you know it works in CSO, otherwise, have the ISO on standby just in case.

well i was able to make the plug in work at last, now i have a question, how do i use on psx eboots? since the only psp games i am playing now are luxor and bomberman and i have about four eboots on my stick i want to know how to use the cheats on said psx games, since when i press select nothing happens, or does it means i need to go and converts GS to the cheat format and add them to the DB? if so what is the program for it?

In short, you need a separate cwcheat.prx file that is for popsloader.

Something odd came up, I've booted some psx eboots via popsloader and like castlevania SOTN the cheats are censored, they all appear to hve a black line over them! it happened first with Persona 2 inncoent sin and a few others.

Why does this happens? firmware that pops is using or what?

Do you have the cwcheat for popsloader?

Yes insane otherwise i wouldnt be able to select cheats for my psx eboots, what happens is the same as the unnatained intel on black ops, several black lines block the text, so i cant select cheats at all form the random games that dont show up cheats, for example i can select cheats for alundra 2 but not for persona 2 innocent sin.

Either it doesn't have cheats for that game, or you're loading in a stressful spot.

What I mean is, don't bring up the cwcheat menu when it's loading, bringing up menus, executing any action. Bring it up when you're standing still, or on a menu, but not doing anything.

Ok probably my last question, and it's urgent (sort of) i am curious on two Cd games, such as Chronno cross or Parasite eve I & II or MGS, what i am confused is that some people say that popsloader can indeed (i am not even sure if am using it rigth, this is an other doubt i have, i installed the plug in and all i do is directly launch the eboot, from the memory stick, i am not 100% if this is the correct method or if i should have a POPSLOADER app similar to the firmware or PSARdumper app that shows up as a game) can load by separate the next image, other say i need to create a multi disc image, the only program i know that does that it's one for GC games, is there one for PSX games?.

In short can popsloader do this for example: on parasite eve I after crossing a point the game asks me to swtich discs, but how i do it on POPSLOADER? , does it has such an option? or do i need to create a multi CD image then make it onto eboot? (mentioning too those three specific games as i know FF VII to IX allows you to save between discs).

    One last batch of Questions:

Where can i usually get the latest stuff for POPSLOADER? (most recent plug in, since according to the cheat menu the POPS i am using is of 2008, my guess it's outdated and by quite a while!)

Where can i download also an updated CWcheats file? or the pops.prx & popspsx.prx? version i am running is 2.2

If i have my firmware hacked and i click on system update what it updates? the CFW to the latest CFW or the main FW? (this is related due to something i read ony the CFW system files a command that said it would update the CFW rather than the main firmware OR something similar not 100% sure).

Does any of the FFxxx games need to be patched? i read somewhere that FFIX has AP and needs a patch or it's bypassed via pops like it does to spyro 3?

Probably this will be all my questions oh and one last thing, is there any firmware that is compatible

Don't bother asking me where to get stuff. Last time I touched anything PSX related was in 2007.

Updating through System Update will get you OFW and you will most likely NOT be able to go back to an older firmware.

Newer CFW (pretty much anything 5.00 M33-6 and above) has a save ID changer for multi disc games. It will change the Save ID to the next disc.

No games need to be patched. There wasn't anything anti-piracy related in any of those games, besides the medium used. Nothing in the actual game code like in some DS games.

I can't answer any of the remaining questions or solve any other problems because they are most likely firmware related in that newer firmware created new problems; problems that didn't exist with older ones, which is what I used in 2007.
