Can we really believe what this man says any more. Recent interviews have had him stating that where you buy your goods will influence town growth as well as many other factors. He has also said the the "innovational curve [for gaming] has kind of slowed down now" even after huge innovations in graphics, story and engines ( the Havoc engine in specific, and the HL2 engine now ). I believe that this man is crazy, don't get me wrong I enjoy his games, like theme park and B&W, but he needs to start a trend of telling the truth, because his rep is in the toilet now. He goes as far to compare the fighting as equal to Ninja Gaiden and Soul Caliber. ??? WHAT? some one needs to walk up to him and say "PETER IT IS AN RPG" than maybe he will stop his decit. Don't get the wrong idea Fable was a fine game ( not all it was supposed to be , Project EGO ) but he needs to learn that he cannot just say every thing he wants to do, he needs to calm down and say what he CAN do. another quote, " I claim, and you all will probably crucify my for saying this in my review ( probably )... the combat system will be both accesible and contain depth" All i want is for this game not to be overhyped trash and become a real game. A good WRPG is what lion head needs to retain its credibility. just an idea though.

P.S. the title was a bit harsh

P.S.S. what do you think will fable 2 be overhyped trash? Is peter a good guy?

Sure he isn't talking about Fable 2? No one has actually tried that so we can't say how it is.

Sir Molyneux tends to gab on a little too much, so I just tend to drown him out and wait for some reviews before I pick up the game. Needless to say, I'm still looking forward to it because, as flawed as the first game was, I found Fable to be pretty good. He seems to be pretty ashamed over the overall failure that the first game turned out to be from the few videos I've seen, but that still won't stop him from building up the expectations too high, only to have them all fall down on a buggy game that feels incomplete and was better in theory than in practice.

I still laugh knowing that he said "You shot my husband!" Leave it to my immature mind to take that the wrong way XD

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance- one of the most enjoyable tactics game iv ever played.

Roller Coaster Tycoon - great game and you can buy it on ebay for about £1 nowadays!

Monster Rancher Advance - very underrated game IMO, its the kind of game that will keep you going for a good 20 hours and its a bit like pokemon where you can't really complete it but the battling and game play is totally different from pokemon and a lot of other games I've played.

First he was speaking on behalf of Fable 2, i was only reffering to his previous shinanigans I appologize if that was un-clear. Second WTF are you talking about holysion? FFTA is one of my top games... that i hate it took a beautiful game (FFT) and totally destroyed it MFA did the same thing, except did it worse, the only innovative thing in the series was taken out. enjoy your life with THAT curse of your for liking horrible games.

over all i think that i am looking forward to fable 2.
    i....i think.....

i do believe that peter is a total and complete madman, but, as we all know, most crazy people are also absolutely genius. i see what peter is trying to do, and it is just....just....well quite frankly, its beautiful. i have always relished the idea of my choices influencing what happens in a game and peters games allow me to do just that. the first fable was kind of a let down, what with all that we were promest, but ill be damned if he hasn't found a way to make amends for it in fable 2.

what fills me with doubt about fable 2 is his "one butten combat system."

is anybody as worried about this as i am? one butten combat systems are total and complete rubbish. my point is this: one butten combat systems are context sensitive. so lets say that my hero is standing next to a foot stool. there is a guy with an ax to the right of me, and he is within striking distance. however, there is another to my left, but he is quite a distance off. i press my attack butten and end up kicking the foot stool at the guy to my left, when what i wanted was to hit the guy to my right, so that i could avoid a hit from him. sure the guy that i hit with the stool was takein out, but now i have an ax bureyed four inches in my skull. this sort of situation is absolutely infuriating.

combat system aside, the game looks gorgeous. guess I'm just worried the the combat system is going to make the game flop, and then fable, my dream game, will die.

    Peter Molyneux on Fable 2:
I've always thought that there was something missing in my RPGs, and now I realize, it was acorns! I can't wait for this hawt acorn action.

    XD

i think that is supposed to be an analogy.....

in any case, that is my hope.

Oh, it's no analogy my friend, Molyneux is deadly serious. Apparently growing an oak tree will be central to the plot... or some such nonsense. I think Peter may be confusing innovation with throwing as much random garbage into his games as humanly possible.

You know Peter might get a little excited sometimes, but I enjoyed Fable, just that it wasn't project ego, and at least his heart is in the right place. You just can't make one game everything, and i believe that it gets in the way of his programming.
