    I'm using a sandisk 4 gig card and a T-Flash Micro Sd reader (the one that comes with a acekard) and after a few weeks of using the reader my computer wont recognize the drive and i know it's not the SD card because i can play games on it just fine. also the last time it would recognize the reader was when i was backing up my card and it stopped transferring in mid back up, i safely removed the hardware, plugged it back in and no dice.

    Any help would be much appreciated, although i probably just need to get a different reader...which i want to avoid.

    edit: also i want to add the i had formatted my hard drive since i initially formatted the SD card with the Panasonic SD formatter thing, i thought that might have something to do with it not working.

    seems inevitable but u might try and get a different sd card reader, i myself have four sd card readers cause i know those things can be dodgy as hell

    I'd try formatting the card again, making sure it's not a quick format, with "FAT32" as the file system type.

    Or try another pc.

    If all this fails-or your at the point where the pc can't even format because it can't see the sd card, consider it dead and buy a new card.

    The readers that come with the flashcart usually do not work very well after a while. You'll need to try using another (proper).

    i guess new reader it is, thanks everyone.

    @hypnos, the card works fine.

    @everyone else, my PC will recognize it for a second then say "a problem occurred during hard ware installation, your device might not work properly."

    So... where can i get a reader that will last for really cheap?

    Your local electronics store or department stores will carry them. Check places like Wal-mart, Best Buy, Target, etc. They range from 7-13 USD at the Wal-mart here depending on brand and style.

    You could get a Kingston. Any others should last much longer than 2 months. It's not much anyway.
