I was playing Transformers earlier, when my PC randomly just restarted itself...
here's the error code that came up after I rebooted:
    Error code 100000d1, parameter1 90dc4f80, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 f80e1a2f

here's the system specs if you need them:
    Windows XP Home SP2
    2.26GHZ Intel Pentium 4 processor
    512MB ram
ATI Raedon 9700 Pro 128MB video card
Creative SB Live! Wave sound card

    What is going wrong here?

I've tried some more games besides transformers, and it's doing it on all of them...
I tried GTA San Andreas, Super Smash Bros. on PJ64, and sometimes if I play a youtube video in fullscreen...

I have directX 9.0c already, should I try re-downloading it?

These problems have always been resolved (in my experience) by upgrading the power supply and/or ram. Not sure if that'll help you, running XP with 512 doesn't seem bad at all so I'm kind of ruling that out.

That particular problem is generally software.

    Update all your drivers.

The ram is new, but I'll try re-seating it

    no I don't use skype

as far as I can tell, all of the drivers are up to date...
except for one called Multi Media Audio Controller

thats soundcard. Is your sound built in to the motherboard or is it a separate card?

ok well, we can all just forget about it now... the mo-bo just somehow got fried, and I'm not messing with this thing anymore...

but yes it was a seperate card: Soundblaster Live 5.1

overheating does not cause a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bsod.

It was all because the motherboard was beginning to go out, which it did... so now the PC's dead and has been stripped of eveything but the motherboard
