Re: PC RTS games Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War. Both I and II are good. Seriously, those games are awesome.
Dawn of War 1? I got Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. Haven't got DoW II yet. Haven't tried it. Is it good in your opinion?
I like you can customise your units yourself, though all you actually do is swap 2 creatures body parts. And I've never played Story Mode.
Age of Mythology. Like Age of Empires, but it's faster, and you can hire mythical creatures and cast spells. Meteor Strike casted on the enemy base looks so fcuking sweet. :
I'm willing to bet that you have also tried Starcraft. If you are into old real-time strategy games, I recommend looking into Total Annihilation. Be sure to get both expansion packs for that game too. Also, if you want a challenging, yet fun RTS game, check out Homeworld. That one is a real-time strategy game in pure 3D-Space. I also want to mention Rise of Nations as well (it's another RTS game made by Microsoft by the way.) That RTS game is similar to Age of Empires (with the traversing Age feature borrowed) except that it covers a wide time-range, from Ancient Age to Information Age (present). The Thrones and Patriots expansion also adds neat concepts, such as government systems, to the game, which adds more variations to strategy.
I need more. Say, is Company of Heroes good? Currently downloading Total Annihilation since I haven't spotted a store that sells them D:
Go retro with Age of Empires II: sure, it's old, and sure, graphics suck by today's standards, but it's still a great RTS And if you want better graphics, try Age of Empires III
If you haven't played any of the total war series, I highly recommend them, also I recommend "King Arthur the role-player war game". It's like the total war series, but you cast magic, can do side quests, level up units etc. It's based in Arthurian England, so it's pretty cool with the story. You even get the knights of the round table, at your command (you are King Arthur, so you don't use him).
