Guys, really need help this time, my computer had a 512MB ram (PC2-4300 CL4) , so recently I installed a new 1GB ram (PC2-5300 CL5) onto my computer, but then after I reboot my computer, it shows only 896MB ram how come? shouldn't it be 1.5 gb ram?
Your Motherboard or whatever might only be able to use that much ram. Have you checked using a program to see how much you can actually use?
I am a total noob when it comes to RAM ;D But i do know that for example i have 1gb of memory space, after i install the hard drive, it doesn't say that i have 1 gb memory space but slightly lower.
