Hello, I use a copy of windows 7 ultimate 32bit, however, while my mate assures me that it's 100% legit, judging from the Store purchased cd having no label (he claims his mate is a beta tester at microsoft and got it as a reward or something) and knowing some of his history (he downloads just about anything) I suspect it's pirated.

Anyway, on his, it's fine, no dramas, on mine, I've been getting these access privilages warnings...if I'm saving a pic it may say I may lack the rights to save it (and then if I try again it'll let me save-or save without the error).

And now it's affecting itunes with "lacks privileges to saves itunes library" even though all i need is infact saved.

So what can I do here, do I need to change any settings, or must I re-install?

Oh and before you ask, I AM the admin, the only account in this laptop.

I think you can try turning off UAC.

if its a beta get rid of it, they have a timebomb thats expired now (microsoft dont allow you to continue using betas past the retail release date).

    ...on what?

The disc just looks like a standard bought blank disc.

All i know is it's got one of those code things that say's it's authentic even though it's not (was advised to not use a certain update that checks for this)

ok so that is an RTM version not RC or beta. So it wont be a time bomb. Have you noticed the flag with the cross on your system tray? in windows 7 that indicates theres a problem and if you click it you will be told what the problem is.

    I see the following...

-check anti vorus options (wtf-I got eset working!)

    -Update windows defender

    -change windows update settings

-check for solutions for unreported problems

    -Set up backup

Nothing related to the privilege options.

Nice message on your desktop ::)

Anyways, I too have that flag icon. But that's from the weird DATA (D:) being full
What does that have to to do with the problem at hand? He has privelege errors.

the timebomb disables windows features and generally causes things to stop working.

It sounds like your install has got damaged and you might have to reinstall.

So it's not a fake version of Windows 7?
