PC game name..Can't remember.

I had partially finished a PC game that I was really into. I can't obviously remember the name so, I'll try to give a few details. I remember it being sort of popular..lol Well, the main character wakes up on a planet, not remembering his name...I thought they called him like " The One" not sure. I thought it was Blackthorne (SNES) but that wasn;t it. All I can remember is that and maybe people/creautres being tortured and such. Hope this helps some. Want to say it's not to new of a game..b/c my pc is running it...lol Sorry no real idea of a year..maybe late 90's?
