The 3rd game in the series and obviously the best. Fallout 1 and 2 were made by Interplay Productions Inc, but Fallout 3 was made by Bethesda Softworks, which bought the rights to Fallout around 2004, when Black Isle, the division of Interplay the made Fallout, went out of business. Fallout 1 & 2 were RTS games, but Fallout 3 is a FPSRPG. Fallout 2 Many people refer Fallout 3 to Oblivion, they are similar games, but I believe Oblivion is inferior to Fallout 3. It has an interesting storyline with a few twists. The Wasteland is a huge open map with tons of places to explore and various enemy's such as Deathclaws and Super Mutants. A Super Mutant in Fallout 3 You have freedom to do whatever you want, but sometimes there are consequences. The combat system is basicly fps style combat, with various weapons, such as the extremly powerful Fat Man, and the melee weapons such as the Police Baton, less powerfull weapons such as the .32 Pistol, and energy weapons like the Laser Pistol. You can gain skills bye leveling up for quests. You can gain skills such as lockpick and speech. You can also gain special perks to help you with certain skills. V.A.T.S. an automatic targeting system that slows the flow of time, like turn based combat. V.A.T.S. runs off of Action Points, which replenish after time. The only problem is that you click somewhere on your enemy's body to shoot a couple of times, and you end up missing every time, and wasting ammo. Sometimes its just better to do classic FPS combat. There are also a few faults with Fallout 3 such as hurting an NPC makes them run away from you. A few times they ran threw walls and never came back. The usuall problem is that you click somewhere on your enemy's body to shoot a couple of times, and you end up missing every time, and wasting ammo. Sometimes its just better to do classic FPS combat. I also like you can't kill kids. ;D I also don't like that some of the voice actors are over used, considering almost every kid has the same voice! There are so many interesting sidequests you can do and interesting, immersive characters that it never ends! Presentation: 10 Graphics: 10 Sound: 9 Gameplay: 9 Lasting Appeal: 10 Overall: 48 Fallout 3 is a great game, it has its downsides, but it's probably the greatest game I've ever played. Check it out!
Re: [PC] Fallout 3 *Gets on Spielberg's shoes* CUT! *Gets off of Spielberg's shoes* Dude, you got to read the other reviews and the reviewing rules, man. You're missing a lot of things, man. On that note: I'm planning on doing a Fallout3 review, too.
Scary wall of text... ... is scary. A... hodgepodge of pointers: more details are always better, but you also can't include "spoilers", even if they are not really anything that a vast majority of those picking up the game can pick up from the manual. Going further into detail about the combat system, exploration and all of the other things in Fallout 3 that you like and do not like would really flush out the review. Secondly - the enter key. Find it and love it. Thirdly - screenshots. While too many can kill a review, having some to provide a nice visual break within the review makes it a lot more approachable... and a lot less scary, too x3 Apply these and you'll have a nice little review going for you - looking forward to an updated version~! [So decreed by the site's resident "Elite Reviewer"... or something like that... 0.o]
honestly didn't think it was as good as it was hyped up to be.very good games non the less, but the games overwhelming map and list of quest made you feel as if you had too much to do and not enough time to do it. a lot of the game is spent walking between spots with nothing to entertain you on the way, an in game vehicle is much need. in in all the feeling of total isolation hindered me from connecting with the story. those are the negative points the list of positive ones are much longer,i would give this game a 8.5 or 9.00 but not the perfect scores all other gaming critics have given it. a more honest view
