So. My two friends asked me to hack their PSP's so they can play NBA Live 08 on them. I might go to Toys R Us to get a battery to pandora-ize. I'm scared I'm going to blow my face off, so are you able to pull pin 5 with a toothpick? Or anything non-metallic? And if you touch a toothpick between pin 5 and 6, is there a possibility that it will short circuit even though it's wood? If my other friend doesn't bring his JigKick Battery to school tomorrow, then this question will need to be answered. :p

    Thanks.

Wood will not short circuit a batter, its an electrical insulator.

Thank god. Cause I wrapped a BBQ igniter with electrical tape on both leads and put my fingers on both and pushed the button and shocked myself. Maybe it's because it's a sudden large jolt of energy. Is it possible to pull the pin without the toothpick breaking?

Well my idiot science teacher is still teaching us the rock cycle, so...

Wait but why would it conduct through electrical tape?

there are limits to how much an insulator can stop, Air is an insulator, yet if you were standing a foot from a 210,000V transformer you'd get electrocuted.

If I was in the lower 48 I'd just send you one.

Seeing as I'm in this.. barren wasteland. the best I can do is advise you to search up some tutorials with step by step pictures.

I made my first pandora a while ago. Like you, I though about using a toothpick. It doesn't work. The first time is always a scary process. The good news is that as long as your not using a soldering iron (and touch pins 5+4) there's no way that the battery will blow up. Your best bet is baby nail clippers. Its a quick, 1st try fix. There may be some conduction, but the job is done before anything bad can happen.

P.S. There's no going back after this though- Pandorized for life.
