Hey laters, Im hoping theres an expert lurking around here somewhere. A few years ago a friend gave me a collection of roms and emulators, included was a game, probably Nintendo, but could have been Sega, featuring a Ninja Girl wearing red. Her sidekick is a dog, whom I believe you can call with a whistle. It was phenomenal, truly an underrated gem and I just wish I could remember the name again. Thanks guys
Edited to reflect boss man's post below. Hey Octos I tried searching a bit for that game you were asking for but had no luck, so I'm sorry. Could you try to remember a few more details that might help out, like what emulator you used it on or even a few more details about it would definitely help I'm somewhat of an NES, SNES & Genesis junkie so I thought I could find that game's title out, but just going by the name "ninja" on GameFAQs yielded nothing
Tried googling, nothing is coming up, Like Cahos said, do you remember if it was for the nes. snes, etc. What about the graphics, do you remember if they were NES graphics, game boy, etc?
I was also wondering how the chars. looked. If they're realistic it may be some sorta ninja gaiden ripoff. But if they're chibi, I know hudson or konami had a series with this chibi ninja who could summon a bird and cat by whistling...maybe the girl was the second player? he's the short guy on the very left. did the chars look like that? (This is from a smash bros like game, but it uses hudson/konami chars)
I too tried googling my heart out to no avail. If you can remember what system it was on, that would ultimately be very helpful. Of course, any other details are always very helpful.

Thank you guys for all the help, you guys rule. I don't think its the one shown here, it was a side scroller, and the characters were chibi, it seemed more zoomed in than a Ninja Gaiden or Shinobi style. I think Personuser is on to something, there may have been two characters and maybe different pets. Unlike the other ninja games you may have also picked up different weapons I think. I never got too far, unfortunately. Ill look up the Konami and Hudson lead, thanks again Post Merge: [time]1281130101[/time] Ah, wait, I think the game you mean is Ninja Hattori Kun, I don't think that's it. but Ill keep looking as well.
I just recently downloaded a side scroller game for the NES by sheer happen stance as I was searching for this enigmatic game you're looking for. The main character in the game is a guy though but he does have a pet bird he uses as his weapon.
