I'm starting to hate this pirated windows 7.

More than once I've formatted it (3 times total, and even re-installed the same thing again and again), and it would have the same issues...

-Vids lagging entire pc and even freezing for split seconds/moments
-Admin permissions not recognised ie I download a pic and it goes "you lack privilages to download this file"
-Certain programs just not working properly (msn freezing over and over...and alchol in ethier 52 or 120% just not working)

And I have some clues on this...

    -Wrong os (I'm sure this is a 32bit laptop, my friend once claimed it was a 32bit 7...now he said it's a 64bit :S )
-Heat issues (I used to leave this on the bed, It no longer sits on a bed but a lap table thing)
-The fact that they tried to install a pirated windows xp on an originally windows vista laptop which gave a BSOD
-I dropped it once...in a bag but still

    Any suggestions?

Download a different copy of windows 7. Mine came from TPB and it works perfectly.
If that doesn't solve it, you know its your laptop.

if it is a 32 bit processor then 64 bit windows will not even install. If it is a 64 bit processor then either 32 bit or 64 bit windows will work.

    Odd...

Obviously the guy who gave me his windows 7 hasn't a clue seeing as at first he told me 32bit, now 64bit...

    1. it wouldn't install.
    2. that wouldn't cause the issues you are encountering.
    3. means you didn't slipstream the right SATA drivers.
    4. Also unlikely to cause issues.

4 can cause issues but they'd be more serious than what you're mentioning

When I stuck W7 on the bairns Toshiba 17" Vista laptop,we lost bluetooth(no drivers for w7) and it wasnt picking up full wireless signal from the router. There were a couple of other niggly things,so I just stuck the recovery discs back in.

But on the crappy Advent I had, everything went sweet apart from getting the wireless LAN to work.It was supposed to be activated by a button(rather than a slider switch),but after formatting all the drivers were deleted,so pushing the button done diddly. So I thought W7 would have had that driver, but it didnt and it wasnt on any of my recovery discs either-but I got a driver after a lot of fooking about......

It was one of them Kensingtonton usb things that wont work with W7.Its been put in the wifes Acer netbook on XP and it works on that.I just go out and buy a new laptop c/w W7 rather than all the farting around as time is money.........

I have found that upgrading to W7 isnt as smooth as people think, thats what Im pointing out.

I have a 32-bit copy of Windows 7 called Tiny 7 rev 1 by eXPerience.
I can say that it is rather nice and is compatible with a lot of programs. I have yet for it to crash or slow down. Plus, it only uses 256MBs of ram in idle. Actually less than that. :p

I actually have it on my netbook and my desktop. My other HDD with XP was messing up...my nice 160GB HDD...
