Alright peeps, I have now arrived in Orlando, and let me just say that it's raining here, which sucks. I thought Florida was supposed to be hot and sunny? Seriously though, if there are any Orlando people out there, then now is the time to give me your best tip on how to make my brief stay in Orlando a memorable one.

Most likely I'll head to Disney World or one of the other theme parks one of the days, but the other days are pretty open. Also, where's the good night life places? I am old enough to get a beer or a drink after all. :)

I'm down town and rely on taxis to get places, so places too far away would be quite a bit too expensive.

The food and wine festival is ongoing at Walt Disney's Epcot park. I believe if you go after 5 pm, the ticket to get in is only 30-40 bucks. Food, beer and spirits samples are tapa size and cost 3-4 bucks a piece. Highly recommended; also the halloween horror night at universal is pretty good, from 6pm-12am.

You should go to nickolodeon studios. They might give you a tour if you do visit them. ;D

Just don't get too drunk and go around exposing yourself to the little kids.

That's not Dumbo between your legs, and the police won't buy that excuse...

Well since your going to Disneyland I guess the only logical thing to do is take pictures... (I remember going there during summer saw these guys in x-men costumes I was all like "how do they wear that crap in this heat?", then they approached me and then I smelled them good times :) ) take lots of pictures and maybe depending on the weather you might not wanna wear jeans, last time I wore jeans in Disneyland I was a pariah, a pair of pants in a sea of shorts.

Halloween Horror Nights! I almost peed myself! but that's a misconception about Florida. It isn't hot and sunny all the time. We actually have random days. Could be hot 1 min. And then storming the next And we have sun showers which is rather weird.

Hey, how's it going? My name is Brian and I have lived by Daytona for 15 shitty years :-\ (I'm a jersey baby).
However, I do go in favor for Orlando big time. Islands of Adventure and Wet n' Wild do me in. However, as you specified your not just here for the kiddie stuff. If your looking for some nightlife fun you might want to check out the city walk, its located at universal studios. Margaritaville, Latin quarter, and the NBA restaurant has a lot of basketball guests. It has more but those are most memorable, a similar local would be downtown disney, the happening place of the celluloid adventure park. Disneyquest has some virtual reality goodness, cirque de soleil hot, flexible french women with make up complexes, the amc theatre
I could fill you in on more taylored interests based on what you like but its all there, just have to know where to find it. :)

P.S. Its true, Florida has some of the hottest and humid weather, even right now, you're going to be begging for natures water works to stay on, but you gotta remember as well, that florida is the lightning capitol of the us, if not the world

Go to Universal Orlando Resort, and go to BOTH theme parks. Ride the new [and amazing] Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit, and catch a glimpse at the upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure! Also head on over to Sea World and ride the new Manta, which is simply stunning. If you want to do Disney, then do Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom for some quick thrills and eye-candy. EPCOT and MK are pretty cool, too! Go through the legendary tourist-infested International Drive and go to Wet 'n' Wild.

Just an hour away is Cocoa Beach, and you can go there to just relax, but if you want a much better beach [in quality of sand, water] go to Sarasota's Honeymoon Island.

Mainly, the rest of Orlando is pure suburbia. I'd know, since I'm smack in the middle of it all. Lol.

Sweet, I live in Orlando... yeah it's usually hot and sunny here, but you just so happened to come on the day when we get our first cold front.... highs in the 50's (Fahrenheit, don't know Celsius) for the next couple days... check out the parks, and try to hit some beaches when it warms up a little (if you're still here that is...)

ah, i might just be saying this because I live here but, disney is just not all that much fun...
Universal Studios is a lot better for anyone over the age of 10... If you go to Universal, try out the Islands of Adventure, very awesome

No your right Disney World isn't the funnest place. A waste of money actually. Universal is better. But a speed pass would be a good idea to purchase.

I definitely suggest going to Halloween Horror nights, it's too bad you can't get all the discounts though for Florida residents (something about our taxes anyway). Also Downtown Disney does have a pretty good nightlife, you should stay there and check out Planet Hollywood which is an amazing restaurant and bar. But also at Downtown Disney on Pleasure Island is this crab house that's supposed to have really good seafood.

But it's not only about Disney there's also a great (maybe one of the best or best) Hard Rock Cafe & Casinos there (it's also a hotel and I stayed there before) and if you like golfing there are tons of nice golf clubs lol.

Hope I could help you, I made a better post earlier but my Internet kept on crashing.. what awful timing. I don't live in Orlando btw but I've been there many times on vacations. If you have the time and money you should really consider coming to Miami too but basically Orlando has a lot of different things to do all in one place. Both Miami and Orlando offer great experiences and it might depend on whether you're alone or not to decide which is better. I live in Miami but I think I'd actually recommend Orlando at this time of the year especially with Halloween Horror Nights going on, and if you want a really nice theme park there's Busch Gardens (owned by Anheuser Bush hence the name) which isn't in Orlando but only an hour and a half or so drive.

And if you're interested in basketball the Majic are playing the Bulls on Monday in preseason that's always something to do but I think there's a lot of better stuff than that.
