Origins of Rommulation

I want to know from the staff how Romulation got started. Did you just say "Hey I want start a game downloading site calle Romulation".

 

If you search through the forums, there are a few topics on this if I am correct.

Listen. Seph started this website with inspiration from 9xdownloadz, started out creating a rom downloading website at the age of 14 with little programming knowhow. It was a small website that grew with more members, and became a dynamic nearly self-sufficient autonomous rom hosting site that is what it is today.

It's rather an amazing story if you ask me.

I found this place from an affiliate and just decided I liked it more than my original rom site.
Enjoy every day on here still too.

From what I know, Seph has become an excellent coder through the years and isn't giving up on this place to say the least.

Seph owns this place. Literally.

Patton is the server maintainer and has physical access to the server and Loony is the other admin that takes care of email and other admin stuff and has more things too, but I can't recall as of now.

I have no job here. I'm just a member. I bought the Premium Account so that I could support RomUlation.

 

Lol I think Romulation is the BEST site download roms and retros. i have never gotten a virus and always get something i want from here.

The only GMs that I have ever seen while I've been here are Reider and Winterreise.

They work hard, so don't give them any shit.

 

Whats the difference between a global and a section mod. I know section mods mod certain thread sections.

 

Global Moderator is just under Admin on most sites.
They can ban people and other sorts of neat stuff, like making people moderators or taking their position away if need be and giving warnings. They have reign over the whole forum essentially.
They can't ban the admins though.

Section moderators just have complete power in their sections only.
They can't ban people, but they can issue warnings and more. But not as much as a GM.

 

Well since there is 4 GMs where are they i have seen Reider but none of the others. Does RomU have another site?

 

RomU is just this site. The mainpage and the forums so far.
I don't think Seph has anymore forums. >.>

I don't know where the others are. I never have seen the two besides Reider and Winterreise...
