So the intro movie on Order of Ecleccia loads just fine, but after that there is just a picture of a castle and a bat scrolling across the screen with the wifi bars in the corner... any ideas?

Damn, I got the same problem, *weeps*. Okay, I'll say it right here, I don't have a solution, sorry. But I tried to figure out a few things.

What's funny is, I checked out the comments regarding this game. One guy couldn't download it at first, then he downloaded from the North American alternate version and he said it worked. Yet another guy says he managed to reach kalidus canyons or something like that. That must be one of the locations in the game. If this is so it's proof that the ROM works somehow.

Question is, what IS wrong? The ROM or the emulator? Speaking of which, what emulator do you guys use? I personally use iDeaS 1.0.2.6. It's worked wonders for many games. I tried tweaking with the emulator Properties but no luck. Any help is appreciated, thanks. I don't wanna have to just watch gameplay videos any longer, I wanna play it... :(

Don't use iDeaS, if you must use an emulator then use no$gba. But be aware that it's considered unlikely that a game will work rather than probable.

Most people in the comments are playing this game on their real NDS hand held.

I'm using a DSXtreme card (horrible, I know) and have the latest firmware... anyone have any ideas? Aside from getting a new card?

For the emulator guy, No$GBA 2.6a plays the game pretty good for the most part if you can deal with a little lag in a couple places.

I used the DSTT Flashcart and it's working perfectly.
Currently 2 hours into the game.

And yeah the emulators aren't really that reliable quite yet, though No$GBA 2.6a is by far the best choice.

I just downloaded NO$GBA 2.5c, haven't tried it yet but if you say NO$GBA 2.6 can play the game pretty well for the most part, I'll give it a shot since they're close version-wise. *prays with fingers and toes crossed*.

By the way, with R4, don't you still have to get a DS to get it to work? I want to be able to play with just an emulator.

Another thing, I heard that the Japanese version of the game works perfectly on an emulator, but I may be wrong cause I haven't tried.

There's a huge difference between 2.5c and 2.6a though, the 3D rendering got improved loads.

And you do need a DS to play games with a R4, CycloDS or any other flash cart. But at $130 they're not too expensive and entirely worth it.

the problem for me is that it loads just fine the first time I load up the game on my R4. But, if I turn my ds off and load the game again, all I'm getting is a white screen that just stays frozen like that forever. I tried redownloading it and also deleting the .sav file and it did the same thing: worked the first time then froze in a white screen the second time. any ideas?

Emulator-lovers fear not! I've found a pretty good solution! USE NO$GBA! Seriously!

Okay, sorry, got carried away. Follow these steps... and you can finally play Castlevania Order of Ecclesia, no problem!

    1. First, get NO$GBA 2.5c emulator. That's what I'm using, but if you get
an older version it should still be fine. I think I got it from emulator-zone.com
    2. After you unzip the files, it's time to get started. Open the NO$GBA
    executable file (the main program).
    3. You will see a window for you to select your desired file. I know it says "Select your image" or something like that, but don't worry. Select the file with the .nds extension.
    4. After a few moments, maybe you'll get "Data loading failed" and stuff like that. To remedy this, go to Options > Emulation Setup.
    5. There are a lot of fields here. You only need to change a few (I'm trying to remember from memory):
GBA Mode: VGA (poppy bright) - so that the colours are rich and look right
    Solar Screen: Bright sunlight
NDS Cartridge Backup Media: This is the biggie. Take a look at that drop-down list, you will see several choices. Click EEPROM 8KBytes. Then click OK to close this window.
    6. It looks like nothing happened cause the "Data loading failed" is still there. Right-click anywhere in the playing area (any of the two screens) to produce a shortcut menu. Click Reset.
    7. And voila! It should work! Don't forget to change your control setup.

One thing to note: In step 5, I chose EEPROM 8KBytes because it works for me, but it may not for you. In this case, choose any one of the other choices - maybe its EEPROM 256KBytes or something. But after you make a choice BE SURE TO RESET using step 6, otherwise nothing will happen. You need to reset for the game to work. Keep going until you find a save file format that works.

Another thing. When you close the NO$GBA emulator, and then return to it, you will find that the "Data loading failed" will appear again. But don't worry. Just re-do the steps I mentioned and the game will return. Specifically, your save file will not be erased. Better make a backup though, copy the .sav file to somewhere else just in case your current .sav file screws up somehow, which is unlikely. But you will also need to reconfigure your controls again every time you play.

Now go out there and enjoy the game! The sound and gaming speed is awesome save for some jerkiness, but it's all good. Maybe a later release will help things.

ok it looks like the (VENOM) release, the version this site is hosting is having problems with certian flash carts, one being the R4. Some with other types of memory are getting it to work just fine . but it dint for me.

So i went to another site (ON NOE!) and downloaded theirs and it worked.

one thing i noticed about the the other version is the opening movie is a lower quality than the VENOM release :/ it just looks alot more .... pixalated :/ but the game itself is working fine.

There shouldnt be any difference unless the file has been modified in some way.

Errr, the VENOM release is the proper one, Xenophobia had an internal release which had the exact same CRC32 for the file. So I highly doubt there's any difference between the files on the sites. Unless the site had a pre-patched version.

I'm running it on no$gba 2.6a perfectly, although there is slight lag in some places (most notably the teleport rooms), its very much playable. Version 2.5c is old. Try the newer version.
