Ok, I'm trying to get DeSmuME be the standard program to open my *.nds files, but it's goddamn stressing me out. It just isn't working, every time I select DeSmuME as the program it selects Adobe Reader 9.1 for some goddamn weird reason. I'll show you:

Nothing happens, can someone help me? 'Cause now my *.sav files, *.gba files and my *.nds files are Adobe Reader files.

Something like this happened to me before, but they turned into different files. What i did is delete the "main file" eg. If my files changed from a .sav to lets say a "ips file" and there's Lunar Ips on my computer i delete that and then restart the computer. I did this method and it got them back to normal.

EDIT: Just remembered my .nds files turned into some sort of nitroexplorer file.

I had the same problem a while ago, when I was trying to ''clean'' my laptop and put everything in folders. When I put the DeSmuMe folder in a ''NDS'' folder, I couldn't select it as standard program. When I put it back in ''My documents'', it worked again.
Hope this also fixes it for you ;)

I think you need to reset the file assosiation for that files back to windows default then try again.I used a program a while back that "broke assosiations".Then all your games files will be unknown file types, then you tell windows to open them with that desume program.

Hmm, I used to have this issue with NES Roms opening with Audacity...

What I did to fix it was DL a new rev of the emulator (I use FCEUX) and put its folder in program files. It would let it run then.

I'm using Windows 7, and the full path is
    C:\Users\Bas\Downloads\Games v3.0\Pokémon Black and White\Emulator\desmume-0.9.6-win64

    You could also try

    orb>control panel>default programs

and try the first option, and if it dont work, then the second option.
