Older versions vs New Versions: What's your verdict?

To be honest, I prefer newer versions of things than the older versions. For example, I like GTA IV compared to GTA 1, All Summer Long to Sweet Home Alabama, Fast and Furious 4 to Fast and Furious new Pink Panther movies to the old ones, etc. But I know a hell of a lot of people who strongly disagree with me. But honestly, they upgrade things to make them better, and so that's why I think the newer versions of things are better. Well anyway, tell me what you think ;D .

    Go die, right now.

All Summer Long is not a new version of Sweet Home Alabama, the only thing All Summer Long has is the guitar riff from Sweet Home.

The new Pink Panther movies are meh, the older ones are fantastic, Peter Sellers is one of the greatest slap stick comedic actors, the only thing going for the new ones is Steve Martin and his ridiculous accent which was already done with Peter Sellers and the older movies. Even A Shot In The Dark was better than both of the new Pink Panther movies.

these aren't even newer versions. GTA to GTAIV, well GTAIV is a sequal, not a remake. All Summer Long and Sweet Home Alabama are two completely different songs, Fast And Furious 4 is not a remake of the first, and the new Pink Panther movies are not remakes or new versions, it's just a reboot of the franchise.

If you want to talk about new versions of something, say something about Halloween or game remakes akin to Turtles in Time or Bionic Commando.

Game remakes are fine, yes, as long as they don't screw up why the source material was fantastic in the first place. Bionic Commando Rearmed is a fantastic remake, remixed music, new enemies, new dialogue, new graphics, new guns, new features and yet it still stays true to the original and is ten times better.

Turtles in Time is iffy at the moment. Part of what that made the game AWESOME was it's music, and no one really knows if the music from the original is still there or not. Otherwise they upped the graphics and made 8-way combat in a beat-em up.

I meant not remakes of things but just the newer versions of things. I think I should've been a bit clearer on that soz.

It still isn't very clear, as your post has all, sequels (GTA), reboots (Pink Panther), re imagination of a franchise (FaF) and something that takes a sample from another song.

This all covers SO MANY THINGS.

I mean I can start talking about how awesome pickles are compared to cucumbers and it'd still be relevant to this topic.

Pickles are much much much better than cucumbers. Hands down, pickles are sour and juicier than cucumbers ever will be. although cucumbers give me a feeling of nostalgia, and you can't grow pickles on plants.

Yeah suppose so. ok, i guess this post is a bit screwed up. oh yeah, and pickles are OK- butcucumbers are nice, crisp, cool and this is just my opinion but I hate sour things unless they're in lollies, so I say cucumbers!

Remake-resident evil-resident evil wii or gc...

    new version-gta-gta 4

I think it makes sence :)

Ok...I prefer SOME older games...and systems for that matter...

Ie super nintendo agaisn't 64 games-or even some wii or gc games...

It depends-if the game has lost it's way then I'd go retro anyday-most of the new sonic games SUCK!

UMK3...best mk game I reckon-first was ok I guess...but I play to cheap with scorpion with the old "harpoon, upper cut, teleport punch" trick...

The last one seems a tad...dull to me, even though it has all them new features.

I'm actually not 100% opposed to old things, because I agree that people screw things up when making newer versions. I'm mad at Super Mario Bros 3 which I play on my NES (yeah, I still have one that works lol) and I prefer it to new super mario bros on ds, even though it was reasonable.

it depends on what is occuring and what you're talking about.

in video games for instance, it wouldn't really matter if super mario brothers 1 came out in hd or not because in the end, the game is still the same.

super street fighter hd for 360 is the same game for the one on the wii.

    Hmmm
I preferred the Super Smash Bros on N64 than the one on Wii
the action was way faster, not as slow as the one right now on the Wii

because newer is not always better.

-I'm still running AIM 5.2 with AIMutation.
-My PSP was running firmware 3.5 something for the longest time (bought it from my friend who likes to update...meh)
-My Wii ran almost stock firmware until I bannerbombed it.
-My iPhone ran 2.1 until 3.0 jailbreak came out.
-ePSXe 1.5.2 is better than 1.6.0 and sometimes runs better than 1.7.0, especially Square games.
    -I still have Adobe 4 or 5.
-Azureus 2.5.0.4 > Vuze bullshit. Utorrent owns both.
-IE6 got me past the 'max connections' bullshit on firefox for registering for my classes. One of the first one to register.
-Old Charger > New Charger (the only one I'd ever buy is the SRT8 6.1L, which the 300C SRT8 is faster)
-Old Camaro (1969) > New Camaro (still nice, but it's a second-rate Corvette LS7 at best, just like the GTO was a second-rate LS2 Corvette)
-Old Mustang (even the 90s ones) > New Mustang (body is a bit heavy)
-Dark Cloud > Dark Cloud 2
    -Final Fantasy X > Final Fantasy X-2

I know I said bullshit a lot, but really, it IS bullshit.
That's all I can come up with in the last 10 minutes. I'll add more.

I don't care if its old or not,if its good I'll play/listen/watch/whatever it.
I still prefer SRW4 on the SNES compared to the newer SRW,although the new SRW's are also good.
